ALS Awareness Month

ALS Awareness Month, held each September, aims to increase understanding of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. ALS is a progressive neurological disorder that affects nerve cells controlling muscle movement, leading to muscle weakness, loss of coordination, and eventual paralysis. The month encourages education, research support, and community engagement to improve quality of life for those affected and to promote efforts toward a cure. By raising awareness, organizations hope to foster more understanding, early diagnosis, and increased funding for research.
