Alpha (α) Lyrae
Alpha (α) Lyrae, known as Vega, is a bright, blue-white star located in the Lyra constellation. It is approximately 25 light-years from Earth and is one of the most luminous stars in our night sky. Vega is classified as a main-sequence star, meaning it is actively fusing hydrogen in its core, similar to the Sun but more luminous and hotter. Its brightness and proximity make it an important reference point in astronomy, and it was the northern pole star around 12,000 years ago. Vega is also a key target for studying stellar properties and planetary systems.
