Alpenglow

Alpenglow is a natural optical phenomenon characterized by a reddish or pinkish glow that appears on mountains or snowy peaks near sunrise or sunset. It occurs when the setting or rising sun's rays are scattered and diffused by the Earth's atmosphere, casting warm hues onto the landscape just before the sun fully appears or disappears below the horizon. The effect is most visible on well-lit, snow-covered or rocky peaks, creating a striking, soft glow that highlights the mountain's contours and adds a dramatic clarity to the scene.
