Alkaline-Surfactant-Polymer (ASP) Flooding

Alkaline-Surfactant-Polymer (ASP) flooding is an enhanced oil recovery technique that improves oil extraction from underground reservoirs. It uses a combination of chemicals: alkaline agents to break down oil and reduce its sticky properties, surfactants to lower the oil-water interface tension, and polymers to increase the viscosity of injected water, helping push more oil toward the production wells. This method increases the amount of oil recovered beyond what traditional methods can achieve, making extraction more efficient. ASP flooding is especially useful in reservoirs with challenging conditions, allowing for better recovery while minimizing environmental impact.
