Alimentarius Commission

The Codex Alimentarius Commission is an international body established by the World Health Organization and the Food and Agriculture Organization to develop food standards, guidelines, and codes of practice. Its goal is to ensure food safety, fair trade, and protect consumer health worldwide. By setting common standards for hygienic practices, additives, labeling, and contaminants, it helps prevent food disputes, ensures quality, and promotes trust in global food markets. The standards are voluntary but widely respected, helping countries coordinate their regulations and improve food safety across borders.
