Alienation of Labor

Alienation of labor refers to the feeling of disconnection workers experience from their work, the products they create, themselves, and others. In a system where workers have little control or personal stake, their labor becomes a monotonous task, and the products they make are owned by others. This leads to a sense of powerlessness, meaninglessness, and separation from one’s purpose. Essentially, workers don’t see their work as fulfilling or expressive of their identity, which diminishes their sense of satisfaction and human connection within the work environment.
