Aliasing

Aliasing occurs when a signal is sampled at a rate that is too low to capture its changes accurately, causing different signals to appear similar or indistinguishable after digitization. Think of it like taking a blurry photo—fine details get lost, and the image can look misleading. In digital audio or images, aliasing introduces errors or artifacts, making the data look different from the original. To avoid aliasing, signals should be sampled at a rate at least twice their highest frequency component, ensuring accurate representation of the original signal.
