Alhazen

Alhazen, also known as Ibn al-Haytham, was a pioneering scientist from the Islamic Golden Age who made major contributions to optics and vision. He was the first to explain that vision occurs when light rays reflect off objects and enter the eyes, challenging earlier ideas of sight. His experiments with lenses and light laid the groundwork for modern optics and understanding of how cameras and telescopes work. Alhazen also emphasized the importance of experimentation and empirical evidence in scientific discovery, influencing the development of the scientific method.
