Algonquin Tribe

The Algonquin Tribe is a group of Indigenous people native to northeastern North America, primarily in what is now Quebec and Ontario, Canada, and parts of the northeastern United States. They speak the Algonquin language and traditionally rely on hunting, fishing, and gathering. Historically, they lived in small communities with semi-permanent homes called wigwams. Today, the Algonquin people maintain their cultural heritage through language, ceremonies, and land stewardship, while also engaging in contemporary life.
