Algonquian tribes

Algonquian tribes are a group of Indigenous peoples in North America who share linguistic roots in the Algonquian language family. They historically inhabited regions across the eastern U.S. and parts of Canada, including the Atlantic coast, Great Lakes, and interior plains. Known for hunting, fishing, gathering, and agriculture, many tribes formed complex social and political systems. Today, Algonquian-speaking peoples continue to preserve their cultures, languages, and traditions, contributing significantly to the diverse Native American heritage. They include tribes such as the Mi'kmaq, Abenaki, Powhatan, and Ojibwe, each with unique histories and identities.
