Alfred Newman (1900-1970) was an influential American composer and conductor known primarily for his work in film music. With a career spanning over three decades, he composed scores for more than 200 films and won nine Academy Awards, making him one of the most recognized figures in Hollywood's Golden Age. His notable works include the iconic scores for films such as "The King and I" and "All About Eve." Newman is also known for creating the 20th Century Fox fanfare, a memorable piece that still opens many of the studio's films today.
