
Alfred Bessette
Alfred Bessette, also known as Brother André, was a Canadian Catholic monk known for his deep faith and compassion. Born in 1845, he dedicated his life to helping others through prayer, caring for the sick, and humble service. He became renowned for his powerful intercessory prayers, inspiring many people seeking miracles and spiritual healing. Despite limited formal education, his sincere devotion earned him respect, and he eventually founded the Congregation of Holy Cross at Montreal’s Notre-Dame College. He was canonized as a saint in 2010, recognized for his faith, humility, and the many lives he touched through prayer and kindness.
