Alfisols

Alfisols are a type of fertile soil found in many temperate regions, often under forests or grasslands. They have a balanced mix of minerals, organic matter, and nutrients, making them excellent for agriculture. Their name comes from the Latin "alfus," meaning "white," referring to the clay-rich horizon at their core. Alfisols typically have a well-developed structure with a distinct layer of mineral-rich material called the B horizon. They are moderate in acidity and support diverse plant growth, making them some of the most widely used soils for farming around the world.
