Alexia

Alexia, also known as visual or word comprehension impairment, is a neurological condition where a person has difficulty reading words despite having normal vision and intelligence. It typically results from damage to certain areas of the brain responsible for processing written language, often due to stroke, injury, or neurological disease. People with alexia may see the words but cannot interpret their meaning, making reading challenging or impossible, even though they can understand spoken language. It is distinct from other language disorders and often requires specialized therapy for management and improvement.
