Alexey Leonov

Alexey Leonov was a Soviet cosmonaut and the first person to perform a spacewalk, stepping outside his spacecraft in 1965. His pioneering extravehicular activity (EVA) demonstrated the feasibility of humans working outside spacecraft in orbit. Leonov also contributed to space technology development and was a skilled pilot and engineer. His efforts helped shape human space exploration and international space cooperation.
