
Alexey Leonov
Alexey Leonov was a Soviet cosmonaut and the first person to perform a spacewalk, stepping outside his spacecraft in 1965. His pioneering extravehicular activity (EVA) demonstrated the feasibility of humans working outside spacecraft in orbit. Leonov also contributed to space technology development and was a skilled pilot and engineer. His efforts helped shape human space exploration and international space cooperation. Beyond his space career, he was an accomplished artist. His legacy includes advancing our understanding of human capabilities in space and inspiring future generations of astronauts and explorers.
