Alexandra Feodorovna

Alexandra Feodorovna was a Russian noblewoman of German origin who became the last Empress of Russia as the wife of Tsar Nicholas II. Born Princess Alix of Hesse, she converted to Russian Orthodoxy upon marriage in 1894. Known for her deep religious faith and devotion to her family, she played a significant role in the Romanov monarchy. Her influence was often viewed as conservative, and she faced criticism for her close association with the mystic Grigori Rasputin, which contributed to public suspicion of the royal family. Alexandra's reign ended with the Russian Revolution, after which she and her family were executed in 1918.
