Alexander Palace

Alexander Palace, located in Tsarskoye Selo near Saint Petersburg, Russia, was a luxurious residence built in the 18th century, originally for the Russian royal family. It served as a retreat and summer residence for the Romanovs, featuring elegant architecture and beautiful gardens. Unlike the grand Peterhof Palace, the Alexander Palace was more intimate, suited for family life. It played a significant role during the tumultuous early 20th century, notably as the residence of the last Russian emperor, Nicholas II, and his family before their imprisonment and execution. Today, it is a museum dedicated to Russian history and the Romanov family.
