
Alexander Keith (politician)
Alexander Keith (1827–1896) was a Canadian politician and businessman from Nova Scotia. He served as the Premier of Nova Scotia from 1874 to 1878, leading the province through important economic and political developments. Before politics, Keith was a successful brewer, founding the Alexander Keith’s Brewery in Halifax, which became famous internationally. As Premier, he focused on improving education, infrastructure, and public services. His work helped modernize Nova Scotia during a period of growth, and he remains a notable figure for his contributions to both industry and public life in Canada.
