Alexander Kazhdan (Historian)

Alexander Kazhdan was a prominent historian and scholar, best known for his work on Byzantine studies. Born in 1922 in the Soviet Union, he significantly contributed to the understanding of Byzantine culture, society, and history through extensive research and publications. One of his most notable achievements is the "Oxford Dictionary of Byzantium," which he co-edited, providing valuable insights into the Byzantine Empire's influence on modern Europe.
