Aleksandr Kerensky was a Russian lawyer and politician who played a key role during a critical period in Russia’s history. In 1917, he led the provisional government after the fall of the Tsar, striving to stabilize the country and continue fighting in World War I. However, his government struggled with unrest and divisions, and he couldn’t prevent the rise of the Bolsheviks. Kerensky’s leadership ended when the Bolsheviks seized power later that year, leading to the Russian Revolution’s radical changes. His role is often seen as a transitional figure caught between old monarchy and revolutionary change.
