Aldermen

Aldermen are elected officials who serve on a city or town council, helping to make local laws, budgets, and policies. They represent the interests of their community members and work with other council members to improve the city’s services, neighborhood safety, and development projects. Their role is similar to that of legislators at the state or national level but focused on local issues. Aldermen are responsible for listening to residents, debating proposals, and making decisions that influence daily life, such as street repairs, parks, and public safety.
