Alchemist

An alchemist is someone who historically practiced a blend of philosophy, mysticism, and proto-science aimed at transforming matter. Their primary goals were to turn base metals into gold and discover the "elixir of life" to grant eternal youth. While modern science has surpassed alchemy with chemistry and medicine, alchemists laid important groundwork for scientific inquiry. Today, the term "alchemist" can also metaphorically describe someone who skillfully transforms or enhances situations, ideas, or personal growth through creative or strategic means.
