Alboin

Alboin was a 6th-century leader of the Lombards, a Germanic tribe that migrated into Italy. He became king around 560 AD and is known for uniting the Lombards and leading their invasion of Italy, which laid the foundation for their kingdom there. He was a skilled military strategist and a charismatic leader, but his reign ended violently when he was assassinated around 572 AD. Alboin's conquests significantly influenced Italian history, as his successor’s rule established the Lombard kingdom, shaping the region's political landscape for centuries.
