Albanian National Awakening

The Albanian National Awakening, occurring in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, was a movement aimed at fostering Albanian national identity, language, and culture. During this period, Albanians sought independence from the Ottoman Empire and resisted efforts to suppress their language and traditions. Led by intellectuals and activists, the movement promoted education, the use of the Albanian alphabet, and political unity. It ultimately contributed to the declaration of Albanian independence in 1912, establishing Albania as a separate nation-state and solidifying Albanian cultural and national consciousness.
