Albanian League of Prizren

The Albanian League of Prizren was a political and military organization formed in 1878 by Albanian leaders to protect Albanian territories and culture amid the decline of the Ottoman Empire. It aimed to defend Albanian lands from neighboring national expansions, promote Albanian rights, and resist partitioning by neighboring countries like Serbia, Montenegro, and Greece. The league sought to unite Albanians across different regions and advocated for autonomy or independence. Although short-lived, its efforts fostered national consciousness and laid the groundwork for later Albanian independence movements.
