Alaska Highway

The Alaska Highway, also known as the Alcan Highway, is a historic road that connects the contiguous United States to Alaska through Canada. Built during World War II for military purposes, it stretches approximately 1,700 miles from Dawson Creek in British Columbia to Delta Junction in Alaska. The highway serves as a vital transportation route for residents, travelers, and freight, offering scenic views of wilderness, mountains, and forests. Its construction was a significant engineering effort, facilitating movement of troops and supplies, and today it remains an important link in northern North America’s road network.
