Alan Gross

Alan Gross is an American contractor who was imprisoned in Cuba for providing internet access to the island's Jewish community as part of a U.S. government project. In 2009, he was arrested and later sentenced to 15 years in prison for actions deemed to violate Cuba's sovereignty. His detention strained U.S.-Cuba relations and drew international attention. In 2014, after extensive diplomatic negotiations, Gross was released and returned to the United States. His case highlighted issues regarding government foreign policy, human rights, and the complexities of U.S.-Cuba relations.
