Alambic

An alembic is a specialized device used in the process of distillation to separate liquids based on their boiling points. Traditionally made of metal or glass, it consists of a pot where the liquid mixture is heated, a neck where vapor rises, and a condenser where the vapor cools back into liquid form. This allows for the extraction and purification of specific components, such as spirits from fermented liquids. Alembics have been used historically for producing perfumes, spirits like brandy, and for chemical experiments, playing a key role in understanding and controlling the distillation process.
