
Al-Zahrawi
Al-Zahrawi, also known as Abulcasis, was a pioneering Muslim surgeon from the 10th century. He is considered one of the greatest early medical innovators, especially in surgery. He authored the influential medical text "Al-Tasrif," which detailed surgical techniques, tools, and procedures still referenced today. His work introduced numerous surgical instruments, advanced techniques for treating wounds, fractures, and tumors, and emphasized careful observation and anesthesia. Al-Zahrawi's contributions laid the groundwork for modern surgery and significantly impacted medical science, bridging ancient knowledge and future innovations.
