Al Saud dynasty
The Al Saud dynasty is the ruling family of Saudi Arabia, established in the 18th century through an alliance between tribal leader Muhammad ibn Saud and religious reformer Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab. The family unified the Arabian Peninsula and founded the modern state of Saudi Arabia in 1932. Over time, the Al Saud kings have maintained power through a combination of political authority, control of vast oil resources, and religious legitimacy. The dynasty plays a central role in the kingdom's governance, culture, and international relations, with leadership typically passing among family members, shaping Saudi Arabia’s development and policies.
