Al-Muwaffaq

Al-Muwaffaq was a prominent Islamic ruler and military leader during the 11th century, serving as the regent and brother of the Abbasid Caliphate’s caliph. He effectively managed the empire’s political and military affairs, especially during times of crisis, such as defending against invading Seljuk Turks. Known for strengthening the empire and consolidating power, Al-Muwaffaq played a key role in maintaining Abbasid stability. His leadership helped preserve the caliphate’s influence, even as real political authority often rested with him rather than the caliph himself.
