Al-Lat

Al-Lat was a pre-Islamic Arabian goddess worshipped by various tribes, particularly in the region of Mecca. She was considered a mother goddess and was associated with fertility, war, and the earth. Al-Lat was often depicted as a black stone, symbolizing her sacredness, and was revered alongside other deities, such as Al-Uzza and Manat. With the rise of Islam in the 7th century, veneration of Al-Lat and similar deities was largely rejected as the new monotheistic faith emphasized the worship of one God, Allah. Today, Al-Lat represents a significant part of Arabia's ancient cultural and religious heritage.
