Al-Anbar Province

Al-Anbar Province is a large, mostly desert region in western Iraq, neighboring Syria. It is Iraq’s largest province by area and has a diverse population, primarily Arab Sunnis. Historically, it has been an important center of trade, politics, and military activity. The city of Ramadi, the capital, and Fallujah are notable urban centers within the province. Al-Anbar has experienced significant conflict, especially during the Iraq War and subsequent insurgencies, impacting its development. Today, efforts continue to stabilize and rebuild the area, aiming to improve security and infrastructure for its residents.
