Akhbari

Akhbari is a term used within Shia Islam to describe a school of thought that emphasizes reliance on authentic traditions (or hadiths) from the Prophet Muhammad and his family (the Ahl al-Bayt) for religious guidance. Akhbaris prioritize the teachings directly reported through these traditions and often reject the use of rational reasoning or independent interpretation (ijtihad) in religious matters. They believe that the primary sources—scripture and authentic sayings—are sufficient for understanding and practicing faith, viewing human reasoning as secondary or potentially unreliable in theological issues.
