AKC Foundation Stock Service

The AKC Foundation Stock Service (FSS) is a program that helps preserve and promote the registration of breed populations that are not yet fully recognized as official breeds by the American Kennel Club. It allows breeders to officially record their dogs, track pedigrees, and help maintain genetic diversity. Dogs registered through FSS can participate in certain events and contribute to the development and recognition of new or rare breeds. However, FSS is a stepping stone toward full breed recognition and does not grant full AKC breed status, ensuring the movement toward breed stabilization and standardization.
