Akbar (Jahangir's father)
Akbar was the father of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir and served as Mughal emperor from 1556 to 1605. He is renowned for uniting much of India under a centralized and efficient administration, promoting religious tolerance, and fostering cultural integration. Akbar implemented progressive policies, such as abolishing certain taxes on non-Muslims and encouraging dialogue among different faiths, which helped stabilize and enrich his diverse empire. His strategic governance and openness to ideas made his reign one of the most influential periods in Indian history, laying foundations that his successors, including Jahangir, continued to build upon.
