Akan societies

Akan societies, primarily found in Ghana and Ivory Coast, are traditionally organized around extended family clans and community relationships. They emphasize communal values, ancestral reverence, and hierarchical leadership, often led by chiefs or kings known as "Asantehene" or similar titles. Social roles and responsibilities are inherited, and elders hold significant authority. The Akan culture is rich in art, music, and storytelling, serving to uphold moral values and communal identity.
