Airway adjuncts
Airway adjuncts are tools used by medical professionals to keep a person’s airway open and ensure they can breathe effectively, especially when they are unconscious or have breathing difficulty. Examples include oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal airways, which are inserted into the mouth or nose to prevent the tongue from blocking the airway or to facilitate ventilation. These devices are essential in emergency situations, surgeries, or when the airway might be obstructed, helping to maintain oxygen delivery to the lungs and support vital functions until normal breathing is restored.
