Airfoil

An airfoil is a specially shaped surface, such as the wing of an airplane, designed to generate lift. Its shape—a curved upper surface and flatter lower surface—creates differences in air pressure as air flows over it. Faster airflow over the curved top reduces pressure compared to the underside, producing an upward force that lifts the aircraft. This aerodynamic design allows planes and other flying objects to stay aloft efficiently by harnessing airflow dynamics.
