Air Waybill

An Air Waybill (AWB) is a document used in air cargo shipments that acts as a contract between the shipper and the airline. It details the type, quantity, and destination of the goods being transported. The AWB serves as proof of receipt for the cargo, a record of the agreement for transportation, and a document for tracking the shipment. Unlike a bill of lading, it is non-negotiable, meaning it cannot be bought or sold. Essentially, it ensures that the airline and shipper agree on how and where the cargo should be delivered.
