Air-Entraining Agents

Air-entraining agents are chemicals added to concrete mix to intentionally introduce tiny air bubbles throughout the mixture. These microscopic bubbles improve the concrete's durability by enhancing resistance to freeze-thaw cycles, scaling, and other weather-related damage. They also make the concrete more workable and improve its ability to withstand deformation under stress. The bubbles are small enough not to weaken the material significantly but provide beneficial internal space that helps prevent cracking and deterioration, especially in environments where concrete will be exposed to freezing temperatures.
