Ainu languages

Ainu languages are a small, indigenous language family spoken by the Ainu people, primarily in Japan's northern regions like Hokkaido. They are distinct from Japanese and are considered language isolates, meaning they have no known relation to other languages. Ainu languages have a rich oral tradition but are now critically endangered, with very few speakers remaining. Efforts are underway to revitalize and preserve the language, recognizing its importance as a part of Ainu culture and heritage.
