Ainu Itak

Ainu Itak is the traditional language of the Ainu people, an indigenous group from Japan's northern regions and parts of Russia. Itak refers to their unique language, distinct from Japanese and other regional languages, with its own grammar, vocabulary, and sounds. Historically oral, it was used in daily life, storytelling, and rituals. Efforts are ongoing to preserve and revitalize Ainu Itak, which is critically endangered due to historical suppression and cultural assimilation.
