AIDS-related Complex (ARC)

AIDS-related Complex (ARC) is an early stage of HIV infection where the virus has begun affecting the immune system, but it has not yet progressed to full-blown AIDS. People with ARC may experience symptoms like fever, swollen glands, weight loss, fatigue, and occasional infections. It indicates that the immune system is weakened but not severely enough to cause opportunistic infections typical of AIDS. Without treatment, ARC can develop into AIDS, where the immune system becomes critically compromised. Early diagnosis and antiretroviral therapy are important to manage symptoms and prevent further progression.
