Ahtna
Ahtna is a Native American group from south-central Alaska, part of the larger Athabaskan language family. They traditionally inhabited the Copper River region, engaging in hunting, fishing, and gathering for sustenance. The Ahtna people have a rich cultural heritage, including unique oral traditions, crafts, and ceremonies that reflect their deep connection to the land and environment. Today, they continue to preserve their language, traditions, and sovereignty through the Ahtna Intertribal Council, which advocates for their community's social, economic, and cultural well-being.
