Ahmet Üzümcü

Ahmet Üzümcü is a Turkish diplomat who served as the Director-General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) from 2010 to 2018. The OPCW is an international organization dedicated to eliminating chemical weapons worldwide. During his leadership, Üzümcü oversaw efforts to verify the destruction of chemical stockpiles and promote disarmament, playing a key role in preventing the use of chemical weapons in conflicts. His work contributed significantly to global safety and the enforcement of international chemical weapons bans.
