The Ahmed Glaucoma Valve is a small surgical device used to treat various types of glaucoma, a condition where increased eye pressure can damage the optic nerve. It consists of a tiny tube and a valve placed inside the eye to help drain excess fluid, thereby lowering eye pressure. The valve opens when pressure reaches a certain level, allowing fluid to flow out safely, and closes when pressure is controlled to prevent over-drainage.
