Aguinaldo's Malolos Republic
The Aguinaldo's Malolos Republic was the first constitutional government of the Philippines, established in 1899 during the Philippine Revolution against Spain. Led by Emilio Aguinaldo, it declared independence, drafted a constitution, and aimed to create a sovereign nation. The republic was based in Malolos, Bulacan, and symbolized Filipino efforts for self-rule. However, its independence was short-lived, as the United States endemic the Philippines following the Spanish-American War, leading to the Philippine-American War. Despite its limited international recognition and brief existence, the Malolos Republic remains a significant symbol of Filipino nationalism and the struggle for independence.
