agnosia
Agnosia is a neurological condition where a person loses the ability to recognize or interpret sensory information, despite having normal eyesight, hearing, or other senses. For example, someone with visual agnosia might see objects clearly but cannot identify what they are. It results from damage in specific brain areas responsible for processing that type of information. Agnosia does not affect intelligence or basic sensory functions; rather, it disrupts the brain's ability to make sense of sensory inputs, leading to difficulties in recognizing objects, sounds, or other stimuli.
