Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar
Agha Mohammad Khan Qajar (1742–1797) was the founder of the Qajar dynasty in Persia (modern Iran). He united various Persian territories after a period of chaos following the decline of the Safavid Empire. Known for his strong leadership and military skills, he established Tehran as Iran's capital and worked to restore the country's stability and independence, particularly resisting Russian and Ottoman pressures. His reign laid the foundation for the Qajar dynasty, which ruled Persia until 1925. Despite his often brutal methods, he is recognized for consolidating Persia and strengthening centralized authority during a turbulent era.
